Bankruptcy Forms & Instructions

The Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR), a compilation of Maryland State agency regulations, is available here and is searchable. 

Historical List of Maryland Government

Lawyer Referral and Information Service

The Bar Association of Baltimore City's Lawyer Referral and Information Service is a statewide service, matching callers with private attorneys to meet their legal needs.  This service is ABA Certified, but it is not pro bono.  The website describes the areas of law covered, fees, and methods for requesting a referral.

Maryland Access to Justice Commission

The Commission acts to expand access to the quality of justice in civil legal matters for persons who encounter barriers in gaining access to Maryland’s civil justice system. Included on this site are links to forms and help for those who want to represent themselves in court. 

Maryland Code and Rules of Procedure

A free website from Lexis/Nexis providing searchable access to the state laws of Maryland, and to the rules of procedure currently followed by state and federal courts in Maryland.

Maryland Department of Transportation

Transportation not only controls motor vehicle matters but also aviation, the Port of Baltimore, transit and highways.  If it moves in Maryland this is the place to start.

Maryland Judiciary

Information about the Maryland Court system (Orphan’s, District, Circuit, and Appellate Courts) and related agencies, including their locations, contact numbers, forms and fee schedules. Reported Maryland Appellate Court Opinions since 1995 are also available at this site.

Maryland State Law Library

The Maryland State Law Library provides access to law-related information for the legal community, government agencies and the public. This site contains research guides for topics such as change of name and landlord-tenant law.

Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service

The Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service provides free (and in some cases low cost) legal representation to Marylanders with limited income.  They also provide free legal help for community-based nonprofits that are working to strengthen low-income communities in Maryland.

Notary Public

The Office of the Secretary of State regulates and grants application for Notary Public. Use this site for forms, renewals, name change or searching for a notary.

Office of the Maryland Attorney General

Consumer complaints may be filed online with the Attorney General’s Office through this site. Information about initiatives to protect children, seniors, and consumers is made available here

Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland - Legal Services Providers

The Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland provides a list of legal services providers and local bar association pro bono projects throughout the state of Maryland. The site includes statewide programs, specialized programs, and local county pro bono services. Contact information is listed for each provider as well as a brief explanation about the services offered.

Salary Classification for State Employees

The Maryland Department of Budget and Management has provided the Salary Plan that lists the job title, class code and salary information for all classes within the State Personnel Management System.

The People's Law Library
