Open Jurist

Open Jurist is a resource for access to the case law of the United States, with approximately 647,000 opinions and other transactions.  They have records for the Supreme Court beginning with the first session in 1790 and for the lower federal courts beginning in 1880.

Findlaw offers cases from 1893 -- present. This comprehensive database is searchable by citation, party name, or keyword (called full text search). You may also search by volume number (150 - 530) or look through the Opinion Summaries Archives.

This is the  official Web site of the Supreme Court. It gives an overview of its history and  procedures, as well as biographies of all the current Justices. Information about current arguments, briefs, court rules, and recent opinions can also be found on this site.   

U.S. Court of Appeals Cases, FindLaw

There are several ways to find U.S. Court of Appeals cases in FindLaw. You may choose a circuit, then a year and month. Or, search by case number, party names, or use words from the text of the case as search terms. Cases are available from 1995 to the present.
