How to find books by Maryland's Poets Laureate

How long has Maryland had a Poet Laureate?
While Ebenezer Cook (ca. 1665 – ca. 1732), author of The Sotweed Factor, or A Voyage to Maryland, A Satyr, styled himself as Maryland's laureate, the first official Poet Laureate, Maria Briscoe Croker, wasn't appointed until 1959.
What does the Poet Laureate do?
The Poet Laureate generally serves their community by raising public awareness about poetry, language and literature. They champion the reading and writing of poetry throughout the state with various initiatives and projects, as well as giving readings and talks. Some laureates are also asked to contribute new poems to commemorate special occasions.
