The Pratt Library is committed to pursuing ongoing facility improvements throughout our 22-building system in support of our mission to empower, enrich, and enhance the quality of life for all through equitable access to information, services, and opportunity. Proposed renovation dates are subject to change due to weather conditions and construction timelines, so check back for updates.
Herring Run Branch
The Herring Run Branch is closed for renovations as of Summer 2024 for Phase I of a renovation project, with additional improvements anticipated this winter.

The Brooklyn Branch is closed for renovations including an HVAC replacement and new furniture.
Learn MoreNorthwood Branch
The Northwood branch reopened on December 9, 2024 after an interior refresh. The branch is expect to close again in 2025 for Phase II of the renovation plan which will include a full HVAC replacement. This upgrade is being funded by American Rescue Plan funding through the Mayor’s Office of Recovery Programs.

The Forest Park Branch is closed September 2023 through 2026 for a full-scale renovation.

The Washington Village Branch is closed for renovations since November 2023. Plans are underway for a new mixed-use building, which will double the current size of the library with apartments on the upper floors.

Johnston Square
A new branch of the Pratt Library serving the Johnston Square neighborhood as part of a new, mixed-use building began construction in 2024, with expected completion in 2025.
Learn MoreOpen Works Satellite Location
Funded by the American Rescue Plan through the Mayor's Office of Recovery Programs, the Pratt will provide computers and computer training resources at this new satellite location, expected to open in 2024.
Park Heights Branch
A new branch of the Pratt Library serving the Park Heights neighborhood is expected to begin construction in Winter 2025.
