It’s the beginning of May, which means that summer is almost here. Summer means no school, family vacation, camp, or maybe it is just a great time to relax. There is no better way of course to beat the summer heat then to crowd into a movie theater and catch the latest summer blockbuster. There is only one thing better than a great movie but a free great movie. Join us here at your Waverly Branch library for the ultimate free movie experience. There will be free soft drinks, popcorn, candy, and of course hit movies on our silver screen. For dates and show times please visit our information desk or check out our online calendar. We hope to see you at the movies.

From Book to Screen

NOW PLAYING AT A LIBRARY NEAR YOU

It is getting harder and harder to find some originality in Hollywood these days. Everything in theaters now seems to be based on a novel, comic book, television show or video game. Many big screen adaptions do well at the box office while others fall flat on their no-talent, commercialized, and B-movie face. (That's enough ranting over horrible films.) One thing that remains constant is that even if you don't enjoy the movie, you'll probably love the book on which it is based. Check out a few of these books now playing at your library and on the big screen near you:
