Summer Reading Program Activities held in July

Teen summer activities were held at Washington Village--on July 5, Drawing Caricatures. This month the preteens and teens learned how to make silly and creative characters by drawing "Crazy Caricature" and Air Brush Designs.

In addition, Art and Crafts were held on July 8 and 15 where paper mache bugs and spiders were created.  Both projects were a great way for the preteens and teens to express themselves through art mediums that many had not experienced.  The preteens and teens absolutely enjoyed themselves.

The summer activity “Just Add Water” which was presented by Bill Packard on July13, was a demonstration of fun science activities.  In attendance at our small and intimate branch were 74 children and adults, many from St. Jerome Head Start and Transfiguration Catholic Church.  Everyone had an excellent time.

Stories by Fellisco which was presented by Fellisco Keeling to an enthusiastic group of children, young adults and their teachers on July 15.  Everyone was singing and even reciting stories and songs with Fellisco.  Everyone had a fabulous time. They were even singing one of the songs as they were leaving the library.

On July 19, the Aquarium on Wheels Claw and Order entertainers performed a skit concerning a Sea Star’s home. The turnout of over 90 people was excellent. There was also a demonstration with sea animals. This marvelous skit was an enjoyable experience.  Later that evening, at 4 p.m. the Dancing with the Stars activity was held and the dancing participants enjoyed themselves.

Special programs will be held for children and young adults thought out the summer.  Why not join us for some our upcoming programs?
