Federal Hill

Flicks from the Hill
The American Visionary Art Museum sponsors a free outdoor movie series on Federal Hill on Thursday evenings at 9 p.m. (July 2-August 13, 2009). Films are inspired by the current exhibition THE MARRIAGE OF ART, SCIENCE & PHILOSOPHY. Museum is OPEN & FREE between 5 and 9 pm on Flick nights. Rain location: inside the museum.

Belvedere Square Free Outdoor Movies
Belvedere Square brings free concert films to the area on the third Saturday of June, July, and August. Starting at 8:30 p.m. during the summer, Belvedere Square will hoist up the big screen and showcase some of today’s most exciting concert films.

Waterfront Invasion Free Outdoor Movie Series 
As part of the Waterfront Invasion (a tie-in with two new exhibits at the Maryland Science Center and National Aquarium that take over Batimore's Inner Harbor this summer ) come enjoy free outdoor movies with classic invasion themes Wednesday nights in July starting at 8 p.m. at the West Shore Park (Inner Harbor between the Maryland Science Center and Visitor Center).  For more information visit www.waterfrontpartnership.org.

Little Italy

Little Italy Open Air Film Festival
The Little Italy Open Air Film Festival continues the wildly popular format of presenting feature-length Italian-themed films beginning at 9 p.m on consecutive Friday evenings at the intersection of High and Stiles Street in the heart of Little Italy in the open-air amphitheatre style. These screenings are free and open to the public. Folding chairs are provided, 0n a first come basis, although attendees may wish to bring a lawn chair to assure seating comfort and availability.

Village of Cross Keys

MovieFest
This is a month-long series of free movies in the Cross Keys courtyard on Saturday nights throughout the month of June 2009. The MovieFest line-up features block buster films, each with a Baltimore twist. The MovieFest festivities begin each Saturday evening at 6:00 pm with food, drink, music and prizes in the village square. Pre-movie dinner specials will be offered at each of the Cross Keys restaurants — Crossroads, Donna’s Café and Village Square Café. The retail shops will be open extended hours for the shopping pleasure of MovieFest guests; many stores will offer shopping specials. The free movies will begin at Sunset. Movies will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.

Outside of Baltimore, check out the Regal Free Family Film Festival for free movies in Westminster, Bel Air, Glen Burnie and Hunt Valley, as well as Frederick, Salisbury, Hagerstown and Germantown. Schedules vary at each theater.

Cheap movies for kids are offered through the AMC Summer MovieCamp in Columbia and Randallstown, with all proceeds going to charity.

Abell Improvement Association Summer Film Series
The AIA is a civic association serving the interests of the Abell community in Baltimore. Films in this series are screened in the Abell Open Space in the 300 block of E. 32nd St on Friday nights throughout the summer. Additionally, there is a special Saturday, July 4th screening of Ghostbusters. All films are free and open to the public. In the event of rain, films are screened the following Saturday evening.
