More About Us
Communities need libraries, and libraries need communities. The Friends of the Pennsylvania Avenue Branch Library are a group of people from the local community interested in supporting the library and promoting its resources, programs and services. They meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:15 p.m. Meetings are open to all - new members are always welcome. Call the branch for more information at 410-396-0399.
One of our most popular, ongoing programs is Chess Kings, the chess club at Pennsylvania Avenue Branch. Players receive instruction and have the opportunity to play matches. Whether expert or novice, players of all skill levels are welcome to join us.
The Pennsylvania Avenue Branch's Book Club discusses a variety of insightful, thought-provoking selections. The selections, which feature both fiction and nonfiction, are chosen by the group. The book club meets the first Saturday of every month unless otherwise stated, and offers participants light refreshments and lively discussion. Stop by the information desk to reserve your copy of the next selection.
