While the summer is typically a slower period for business and finance-related programming here at Pratt, we do have some programs scheduled for July and August. At the time of this writing, they are still in the planning stages, but keep a look out here for more information when it becomes available. Also, our fall 2013 schedule is already taking shape with Baltimore CASH on board again offering the wonderful array of financial programming they have been bringing Baltimore for years. In the meantime, this edition of the newsletter is going to be short. At the end of this month, April 27 from 10 to 2pm, to be exact, the Business Center is featuring an all-day money management program along with PNC Bank and Baltimore CASH. We are doing this as a partner with the Federal Reserve of Chicago and the American Library Association as part of Money Smart Week™. Since April is ‘financial literacy” month, Pratt is happy to contribute to this national endeavor. PNC has been gracious enough to volunteer some of its talent for the program, Financial Advisor for Day. The theme of this program is free financial advice for individuals with any question he or she may have concerning personal finances, such as different ways to save for retirement or how to fix credit problems. Baltimore CASH is also participating in the program for a one hour session of Money Habitudes™, an interactive game that assists people in realizing their attitudes toward money and how to benefit from those attitudes. All in all, the day is going to offer a lot of opportunity to get answers to your financial questions; and, best of all, it’s free! Also, keep in mind that we have a program on managing medical debt scheduled for April 16, Tuesday, from 6:00 to 7:00pm in the Poe Room, entitled “Baltimore CASH Presents: Dealing with Medical Debt.” Our database feature for this edition of the Business Center newsletter is Morningstar, the investment information publication. We have been getting a print subscription to Morningstar for years, but in a recent move, Morningstar has recently gone completely electronic. Our license with them allows one visitor per session, so if you are attempting to access Morningstar and are having trouble logging in, this may be the reason. Contact me , Ray Cruitt, at 410-396-5317 if you have trouble getting into the database and I will try to assist you. Thanks to all of our subscribers! Hope to see you at our programs.

...
