The Enoch Pratt Free Library offers a variety of programs, services, and resources for children from the day they are born through 5th grade. There are weekly storytimes: Mother Goose Baby Steps (for 0-36 months), Toddler Jumps (for 2 year olds), and Preschool Leaps (for 3-5 year olds). Branches hold special celebrations of fairy tales every April and children’s books every November. Storytellers, magicians, and the Aquarium on Wheels are favorite programs during the summer months. Our annual Summer Reading Program offers incentives for reading for kids of all ages. Go to our events page for more information about what is happening today at your library.

All kids are eligible to get a library card with their parent’s consent. Kids age 6 and under are eligible for a First Card. The First Card is special because only children’s materials can be checked out and there are no late fees. Click here for more information about library cards.

All Pratt libraries have age appropriate children’s collections including: board books, picture books, beginning reader books, chapter books, fiction and nonfiction titles, and audio books. Librarians are always happy to recommend a book or help kids use our databases.
