Rise and Shine for the Last Free Family Flick of the Summer

What film brings together The Tooth Fairy, Jack Frost, and Santa? Here’s a hint: the trio is part of the Immortal Guardians, a group that has vowed to protect Earth and the innocence of children everywhere. If you don’t know already, it’s called Rise of the Guardians and we are showcasing the Golden Globe-nominated flick here this Saturday, so bring the whole family. The film will screen at the Central Library at 2 p.m. this Saturday, August 10. The showing is part of the library’s Free Family Flicks series, the once-a-month film series for the whole family that shows in Wheeler Auditorium.

riseguardWant to know more about the plot of the movie? When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs and imaginations of children all over the world. To find out the rest, you’ll have to come and see it for yourself.

The animated feature was directed by Peter Ramsey in 2012, is 97 minutes long, rated PG, and features the voices of Hugh Jackman, Alec Baldwin, and Chris Pine.
