NEW at the Pratt!

Nooks will be available for check-out at the Reisterstown Road and Waverly Branches

BALTIMORE – Beginning August 10, the Enoch Pratt Free Library will have eReaders available for check-out at the Reisterstown Road Branch, 6310 Reisterstown Road, and Waverly Branch, 400 East 33rd Street.

The Reisterstown Road and Waverly Branches will each have 14 Nook eReaders. Each eReader will be preloaded with 22 titles including best-sellers in fiction and non-fiction, books for children and teens, and several classics.

“E is for exciting,” said Carla D. Hayden, Chief Executive Officer of the Enoch Pratt Free Library. “We are so excited to be offering eReaders to our patrons. The Pratt Library is embracing this rapid development in how people read. It’s very rare to be part of a significant change in our industry. The Pratt Library has always tried to help people navigate through technological advancements.”

Pratt patrons can check-out an eReader for three weeks and renew once as long as there are no holds on it. Patrons must be 18-years-old with a valid government issued photo ID and a Pratt Library card. Patrons should also have an outstanding library record, meaning no late fees.

“Your library card can take can you beyond the stacks into this new e-World,” said Hayden. “It’s a digital age and your library is a part of it.”
