On the morning of Monday, June 4, the Central Library kicked off Summer Reading 2012 with an explosion of excitement, and it wasn’t just the confetti raining down from above that grabbed everyone’s attention. Joining Pratt CEO Carla Hayden in the celebration was the “Dream Team of Readers:” Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Baltimore City Public Schools CEO Andres Alonso, Police Commissioner Fred Bealefeld, and the Orioles Bird. Students from nearby schools were treated to an inspiring pep rally, refereed by the Pratt’s own Director of Communications, Roswell Encina.

This summer, readers of all ages will explore books at the Enoch Pratt Free Library. The library is proud to present “Dream Big – READ!” during its Summer Reading program. Going on until August 4, this program also has a teenage component “Own the Night” and an adult component “Between the Covers.” Check out the summer reading web site here.

Did you miss all the excitement? Don't worry, we have you covered. Check out this video of the festivities here:

Remember, if you need help finding a good book to read this summer—or several good books—don’t be afraid to ask your local librarian or check out our web site.
