The Enoch Pratt Free Library is committed to providing equitable access to our collections and resources, including prattlibrary.org. We strive to ensure that our website is usable with assistive technologies and aligns with recognized accessibility standards. These guidelines outline the practices and principles followed by the Library to support the broadest possible access for our customers.
Accessibility Standards
The Library is working to update and maintain web content to be in compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards by April 26, 2027. Updates and improvements are constantly in progress to ensure our content is up-to-date and accessible.
Our accessibility efforts include ongoing evaluation and improvement of:
- Site navigation and page structure
- Text readability and color contrast
- Image descriptions
- Keyboard navigation support
- Screen reader compatibility
- Accessible document and asset formats
Third-Party Databases and Platforms
The Enoch Pratt Free Library provides access to a variety of third-party digital databases, websites, ebooks, and other digital resources to customers and cardholders. Portions of the interface, display tools, and system functionality are controlled by these vendors and may not be fully customizable by Library staff. We are committed to working with our platform providers to:
- Review available accessibility documentation
- Understand platform accessibility features and limitations
- Advocate for accessibility improvements and updates
- Configure available accessibility settings where possible.

The Office of Equity and Fair Practice (OEFP) is charged with helping the library advance its equity, diversity, and inclusion goals.
