Meghan McCorkell
Chief of Marketing, Communications, & StrategyMeghan McCorkell is a strategist, storyteller, and creative problem solver that believes in the life changing power of public libraries. As an executive at the Pratt, she leads the future vision of the organization by overseeing the library’s 5-year strategic plan. She helped create and elevate the Pratt’s nationally recognized Marketing & Communications team, which was named Library Journal’s Marketer of the Year in 2023. McCorkell advocates for the library at the federal, state, and city level by driving the Pratt’s legislative priorities through relationship building with local leaders. McCorkell serves as the lead spokesperson for the 22-location organization and was instrumental in getting the Pratt named one of the Nicest Places in America by Good Morning America and Reader’s Digest in 2018. In collaboration with colleagues, she has helped propel the Pratt to record-high usage.
Prior to joining the library in 2017, McCorkell was an Emmy-award winning television news reporter. She was recognized for her work covering the aftermath of the Haitian earthquake by the Associated Press. She worked as a general assignment reporter in markets across the country and as a Washington correspondent covering Capitol Hill and the White House. She finished her TV career at WJZ-TV, where she was recognized as Baltimore City Paper’s TV Journalist of the Year.
Originally from the Jersey Shore, McCorkell is proud to call Baltimore City home. She graduated with honors from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
