Giving Tuesday - logo on ed and a person reading at the library

Toni Morrison, Kurt Vonnegut, Margaret Atwood, and Judy Blume are just a few authors whose books have been banned from schools and libraries across the country. This growing trend throughout the country and in our home state of Maryland is restricting basic freedoms: the freedom to choose what we read, learn, and experience. At the Pratt, we believe access matters: access to information, resources, and opportunity.

We understand just how lucky we are to serve a community that understands the importance of libraries being open and accessible to all. It’s why here at the Enoch Pratt Free Library we are proud to keep these books and many others on our shelves, and to help students across the state access any book—including those banned in their area. All you need is your Pratt library card! By giving to the Pratt Library, your generosity will help keep the Library accessible and full of stories for generations to come.
