Mia Lemke
Chief People OfficerMia Lemke joined the Enoch Pratt Free Library in January 2026 as Chief People Officer. In this role, Mia leads the Library’s people strategy, serving as a steward of the organization's policies, mission, and obligations. She partners with executive leadership and staff to advance fair, consistent, and sustainable people practices that support organizational effectiveness and long-term success. Mia is deeply committed to supporting employees as individuals while honoring the responsibilities of organizational stewardship. She leads with empathy, fairness, and transparency, grounded in the belief that a strong, inclusive workplace requires both advocacy for people and thoughtful alignment with organizational commitments.
Under Mia’s leadership, a dedicated team of human resources professionals and the Office of Equity and Fair Practice will support the Pratt through thoughtful, equitable, and effective HR operations. Together, they advance staff development, inclusion, and organizational excellence across the Library.
Born and raised in Germany, Mia brings an international perspective that informs her inclusive, people-centered leadership approach. She earned her Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Marburg, Germany. Prior to joining the Pratt, Mia spent over 15 years in human resources roles within diverse government agencies in Alaska and Arizona, building deep expertise in public-sector workforce management.
Mia is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and holds the SHRM Certified Professional credential. She is also a Certified Public Manager through Arizona State University and a Honsha Certified Kaizen Teian Continuous Improvement Trainer, reflecting her commitment to ethical leadership, continuous learning, and excellence in people practices.
Outside of her professional work, Mia enjoys volunteering and exploring historic sites with her two daughters. She values experiences that foster curiosity, connection, and a shared appreciation for history and community.
Mia is excited to contribute to the Pratt Library’s continued success by partnering with leadership and staff to cultivate a workplace rooted in trust, inclusion, and a shared purpose.
