Brittany Pfister
Executive Director of Institutional Advancement bpfister@prattlibrary.orgBrittany Pfister joined as Executive Director of Institutional Advancement in August 2026. In this role, she leads the Library's fundraising and advancement efforts, building philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other partners to advance the Pratt's mission and strengthen its impact across Baltimore and Maryland. She works closely with the Library's leadership, Boards, and donors to development philanthropic strategies, deepen relationships, and connect the community to opportunities to invest in the Library's future. Throughout her career, Brittany has been drawn to the same work: connecting people with institutions and causes that matter to them and helping philanthropy create meaningful opportunities for individuals and communities. At the Pratt, that work is especially personal to her. She is passionate about literacy, books, equal access, and the role libraries play in ensuring that knowledge, opportunity, and extraordinary programs are available to everyone - free of charge.
Before joining the Pratt, Brittany served as Director of Development at The Bryn Mawr School, where she led fundraising during a significant period of growth. She played a central role in the school’s $25 million campaign for a new Upper School building, secured major gifts, led a team of advancement professionals, and built relationships with donors, trustees, foundations, and volunteers. She also led the school’s leadership donor program and annual Woman of Consequence event, bringing together members of the community around the school’s mission.
Earlier in her career, Brittany worked in advancement at Johns Hopkins University. She began her career in Washington, D.C., working in fundraising and development for national advocacy organizations, including Americans United for Separation of Church and State and People For the American Way. She also worked at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, where she served as liaison to the Office of Speaker Nancy Pelosi. A proud first-generation college graduate, Brittany earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Appalachian State University in her home state of North Carolina.
Brittany lives in Baltimore with her husband, their son, and their goldendoodle, Charley. Outside of work, she enjoys practicing yoga, reading, traveling, and searching for fossils and shark teeth along the Chesapeake Bay.
