The Orleans Street Branch is located in the heart of Oldtown on Central Avenue at Orleans Street. Its extended service area includes Butchers Hill, Fells Point, Dunbar-Broadway, Jonestown, McElderry Park, and Middle East. This modern architectural gem opened on August 20, 2007. It replaces the second Broadway Branch that was on the corner of Broadway and Orleans Street for 36 years (February 2, 1971 – May 26, 2007). The original Broadway Branch at 810 Broadway opened in 1888 and closed January 26, 1971.
