Light Street Branch Update
The building has been decontaminated, and is open for Sidewalk Service with staff members who did not interact with any of the positive cases.
We want to let you know about two cases of COVID-19 impacting our Light Street branch.
On Monday, September 28, a staff member who did not interact with the public tested positive for COVID-19. At that time, the branch was immediately closed and staff who interacted with the positive staff member were asked to quarantine. Today we’ve learned that one of those staff members in quarantine has also tested positive for coronavirus.
The health and safety of our staff and customers is the top priority of the Enoch Pratt Free Library. We are working closely with City Health officials. Risk to customers who used our contact-free Sidewalk Service is considered very low due to stringent health and safety precautions taken by the library. That includes requiring face coverings for all staff, daily health screenings for all staff, required social distancing measures, quarantining of all library materials, and more.
Customers who may have been impacted have already been contacted by Pratt staff members. The Light Street branch was decontaminated by City Health officials this week. It is currently open for Sidewalk Service with staff members who did not interact with any of the positive cases.
Thank you for your understanding. We will continue to be open and transparent as we work to safely provide services to our customers.
