Demographic Data for Neighborhoods

Internet Sites

The City Planning Department provides 4-page profiles from the 2000 census for 241 separate neighborhoods in Baltimore City. Neighborhood data from earlier years (1980 and 1990) may be viewed on a site maintained by the Sheridan Libraries at Johns Hopkins University.

Information for 55 Baltimore City "community statistical areas" is available through an interactive mapping tool developed by the Baltimore Neighborhood Indicators Alliance. Five page data profiles from the 2000 census for each of these areas are on the State Data Center's Web site.

The Baltimore Metropolitan Council provides 8-10 page community profiles for 94 locations in Baltimore City and the 5 surrounding counties. In addition to basic census demographics, these profiles also list major employers, identify recent development in the area, and include some projections.

The Council also has thematic maps by community from the 2010 census and from the 2005-2009 American Community Survey. Interactive maps show data for each of the 94 locations mentioned above from 2010 and from the 2005-2009 data.
