|Eira Patnaik was born in the United Provinces in the north of India and now lives in Western Maryland. Her original narratives employ the scenic landscape of the westernmost corner of Maryland as a background to recount the timeless wisdom of characters from the epic literature of India and the stories of the gods and goddesses from Hindu mythology. Eira’s many distinctions include several National Endowment for the Humanities summer seminar grants. From 1999-2001, the Maryland Humanities Council, Speaker’s Bureau selected her as a storyteller for the state of Maryland.|
