A card of their own

With the First Card, your child can borrow books using their own library card.

It’s illustrated with Olivia, a rather popular character.

No late fees

Forget to renew? Can’t make it to the library? No problem.

There are no fines for overdue books checked out with the First Card.

As long as you return your books before they’re considered lost, you won’t be charged.

Fill your bag without worry

Bring home enough books to keep you and your child entertained until your next visit.

That way you can enjoy reading together every day!

Start the daily habit now, and help prepare your child to be a lifelong learner.

The fine print

First Cards can only be used to check out children’s materials. The library decides what counts as a children's item.

Overdue items that are not returned within 45 days of their due date will be deemed lost and billed to the account of the card applicant. All bills will be canceled if materials are returned.

Good for eBooks too

Check out our selection of kids eBooks on Overdrive.
