Tracy ThompsonTracy Thompson first wrote about her battles with depression in the acclaimed memoir, The Beast. In her new book, The Ghost in the House, Thompson identifies the phenomenon of maternal depression which affects all mothers throughout their lifetimes, not just women who have recently given birth. Based on surveys of more than 400 women and interviews with scientists, Thompson offers a thorough analysis of the sources, symptoms and treatment for maternal depression.

Tracy Thompson is an award-winning journalist for the Washington Post. She has also written for O, The Oprah Magazine, Redbook, and Good Housekeeping.
