Though the official summer season doesn't begin until June 21, we’re already "digging into" summer at the Pratt Library with the start of our annual Summer Reading Program!

This year's Summer Reading Program boasts a reading program with free prizes for all age levels and incredible events and activities.

Summer Reading 2013

Aside from free prizes and events, there are other perks to participating in the Summer Reading Program. Most importantly for kids, Summer Reading provides an opportunity to keep minds growing and gaining. A couple of months out of school and no time spent reading can equal a loss of all that knowledge kids gained over the previous school year. Engaging in reading during that time out of school helps kids keep and gain knowledge! That’s a pretty great bonus when you’re getting prizes and having fun along the way.

Children participating in the Dig into Reading Summer Reading Program can earn free prizes, a t-shirt, and entry into a drawing to win tickets to the National Aquarium in Baltimore. Teens also have the opportunity to go Beneath the Surface with their Summer Reading Program. Prizes and a t-shirt are up for grabs, along with a drawing for a Target gift card.

Let’s not forget about our adult participants—there’s even something for you, too! The Groundbreaking Reads Summer Reading Program is a hassle-free way to participate in a reading program and have a chance to win prizes and giveaways, including the grand prize of a Kindle Fire!

All ages have the opportunity to engage in some great events and activities happening at the library all summer long. Check out the schedule of events for children, teens, and adults. Stop in, stay cool, and sign up for Summer Reading at any Pratt Library location!
