For more than 85 years, The Enoch Pratt Free Library has been offering free children's programming at all its branches, creating unforgettable memories for the next generation of readers. Children's programs are vital to childhood development. They keep children connected to reading and to the library.
That’s why we offer free programs every day, plus special annual events like the Fairy Tale Festival and summer reading program. These programs highlight the importance of reading and learning and encourage children to expand their imaginations.
Our children's programs have expanded to fit the needs of its diverse neighborhoods. For more than six years, the very successful Spanish story time "Buena Casa, Buena Brasa"—the Spanish version of Mother Goose on the Loose—has been delighting Spanish and English speaking families alike. And the popular Paws to Read Program, where children read to Pets on Wheels dogs, has been expanded to seven branches.
There is nowhere else in the city of Baltimore that offers this type of programming for free. Stop by the Central Library or your local branch for more information. Watch the video below for more information and to see the sights and sounds of our children's programming.
